A Voice in the Wilderness

As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there's a twilight where everything remains seemingly unchanged, and it is in such twilight that we must be aware of change in the air, however slight, lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness. -- William O. Google bought Blogger

In light of the much vaunted "new and improved" blogger foisted upon me by Google, I will no longer be posting on Blogger.

Knowing that Google contributed to neoconservatives in the past elections, I do not feel comfortable posting in a venue which can be subject to their censorship. I will be looking for another place to begin posting on a blog but, as of yet, I haven't found anything - the truth is, I haven't really been looking.

I have resisted changing over to the new Google format but no longer have a choice. I could not post this message without first accepting Google's terms of service agreement.

Admittedly, I have not yet seen any difference nor have I witnessed any signs of censorship. I suspect this venue will soon be attenuated according to political agenda of those who own the company [a good example would be the Fox News Network] - much as has happened with Youtube who also recently sold out to Google.

Additionally, my 'Statcounter' service has revealed some folks at US government agencies are quite interested in my posts. If these observers' unique computer addresses (url's) are any kind of indicator then, it is evident that I am on a a at least couple of watch lists.

Bearing that in mind, I have elected to leave a few of my posts for viewing on the blog while I have removed others - some for personal reasons and others for self-protection.

At any rate, it has been fun sharing my thoughts with so many different and wonderful people. I wish you peace and heartily encourage all of you to remain vigilant for any threats - especially of the neoconservative variety - aimed at freedom of speech and silencing whatever voices are not in line with such a stifling and stunted agenda.

Remember, when the name of God is invoked, it is done so to assert control and it is done at great personal cost for those to whom the bullshit is being heaped upon. I have said it before and I will say it again;

Throughout Humankind's history, more people have been killed in the name of God that for any other reasons combined.

The neocons are losing ground so I anticipate an even more concentrated effort on their part to silence anyone who does not share the narrow, xenophobic and frightened perspectives of their world - as they see it.

For any of you thinking that change is in the air pursuant to the most recent elections, don't rely on the Democrats alone to save you; they can't even get along with eachother long enough to share one common goal. Moreover, they are political animals whose agenda shifts according to the latest polls.

You may have noticed Bush is still sending our troops to Iraq and the Democrats aren't doing a damned thing about it - other than registering weak protests against it.

Keep your eyes open because I fear it is going to get worse. Iran is on Bush's next horizon and the US Consitution is all that stands in his way. He has gotten dangerously close to it before and the damage he has done to it isn't likely to be repaired without a loud voice coming directly from the American people themselves.

I only hope it is not too late and I pray America wakes up before her voice is forever silenced by the Fascists who drape themselves in the American flag as they sing, "Glory Hallelujah" and pass you their poisoned apple pie.

I will continue posting - albeit with trepidation - because it is evident to me that when our voices are attenuated by fear then, the bullies win by default.

With that, I hold up my middle finger and say, "Here I am. Come and get me."

I will not be silenced by tactics of fear and intimidation.

Be safe,
J

Dixie Chicks Win x5!

Winning all five Grammys you were nominated for?

Hmm - I suppose that makes you country stars regardless of the hell some of those hicks gave you.

It looks like America is more country than Bush & Company had anticipated after all. It just goes to show; you don't have to be a fool to be country moreover, those assholes running the country music stations have shown their true neoconservative colors. Regardless of their censorship, you came out on top - despite their concerted efforts to punish you for rightfully speaking out against the attack on Iraq.

Ain't America great?

Congratulations ladies - your victories are well deserved. Dubya along with his fascist, flag-waving retards can now kiss your ass - officially.

Revenge truly is a dish best served cold.
