A Voice in the Wilderness

As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there's a twilight where everything remains seemingly unchanged, and it is in such twilight that we must be aware of change in the air, however slight, lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness. -- William O. Jaja's First T-Ball Game

This past week, people all across the nation celebrated opening day for baseball.

Yesterday, Jaja's team - the Isotopes - played their very first T-ball game.

This was his first time up at bat.

Here he is running to second base

... chatting with the second baseman

... blasting to third base

... safe at Third

... ready for home

preparing to slide into home plate

Jaja is the shortest player on the team - at three years old, he is a year younger than all of his team mates

but, he plays with a lot of heart. He loves the game.

Post-game congratulations

a post-game hot dog in mama's arms,

and finally, a walk home on the shoulders of his best friend and his biggest fan - his daddy.
