A Voice in the Wilderness

As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there's a twilight where everything remains seemingly unchanged, and it is in such twilight that we must be aware of change in the air, however slight, lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness. -- William O. OK, tell me when the US death toll exceeds that found in Saddam's mass graves. Then you might have a point. Maybe. And what have YOU sacraficed to free the people of Iraq?

I guess one could ask the same question of you Mr. Long Ranger. What have YOU sacrificed to free the people of Iraq?

Of course if you add the innocent people who have been killed by US forces maybe that would equal to what Saddam mass grave held, or supposedly held. But then I don't know how many was supposed to be in that mass grave. Of late I can’t believe my own government, since they are prone to lie without provocation. The Media is no different, they lie too!

By the way, what are we suppose to be freeing the Iraq people from? Did they ask to be freed? It seems to me that all we are freeing the Iraq people from is their oil and their lives.

1800 hundreds volunteers dying for oil --- may not be much too many who think the war on Iraq was a good idea, but just ask the parents of these women and men.

The inherent cruelty and disrespect our government show to other nations, never ceases to amaze me. They go to these countries and hid behind the word “democracy” to take over their land and national resources. I was born here in America, and as a colored woman, I am still waiting for democracy. What hypocrites!

But then, we are all entitled to our opinions, and as such I do not judge Mr. Long Ranger for his. At some point in our lives we have all succumbed to blindness, there are no exceptions to this rule.

Okay Kimo Sabe,

Just as an aside, did you know that the Lone Ranger's side kick Tonto's name means stupid or dumb? Now that was a white man's kind of movie - make fun of your trusty, loyal Indian side kick by calling him dumb!

The word ‘kimo’ is a Tewa word meaning mountain lion while the word ‘’sabe’ means, ‘to know.’ Thus, the Lone Ranger’s name, ‘Kimo Sabe’ translated to the, ‘Smart Lion.’. Not so fair of an exchange between the ‘dumb’ Indian and the ‘smart’ white man. But of course you knew that being that you are a journalist – sensitive to political correctness and all that right? You wouldn’t pick such an ignorant name on purpose would you? Your blog name is telling indeed.

But, I digress…

Plain and simple.

1] No WMD's in Iraq - can you dispute that?
2] No Connection between Saddam and Al Qaeda - can you dispute that?
3] Osama Bin Laden is still running free - Can you dispute that?
4] No connection between Saddam and 9/11 - can you dispute that?
5] What have I sacrificed to Iraq? Pretty simple cowboy - 188 billion dollars and the deaths of my countrymen.

Now are you asking me if I served in the Iraq fiasco as a soldier? No - But I do have a question for you - Did you serve in Vietnam? I did my flag-waving overseas and on the mean streets as a police officer after that. Where did you serve?

Yes Mr. Lone Ranger, as you claim to be a broadcast journalist why not take off the mask and do some real investigative journalism about the lies the 'healthy' man you voted to get into office.

Or is that plank in your eye clouding the ethical training you supposedly received as a journalist? What do you think about that Niewert article on Fascism? Pretty damning about your president isn’t it? Or do you only read short blogs?

Gotta love them chickenhawks in tights and little masks.

First of all, Wow!!

Secondly, I was wondering what language Tewa is. Based on 'sabe' y 'tonto,' is it a native Latin American language. I've never heard of it. Just curious.

Tewa is the native tounge of the pueblo indians - in the Rio Grande Valley. 'Sabe' is a spanish word.

Ahh the good old days - cultural sensitivity of the fifties...

Lone Ranger,

I just reviewed both of your blogs. Are you really a journalist?

You misspelled 'sacrificed' in your original comment. After thirty-two years as a, 'broadcast journalist,' you don't know how to use a spell checker? Something stinks in Arlington Virginia. Amazing in the profession of Edward R. Murrow, journalism has sunken so low.

I have noted on one of your blogs, “Important stuff or not” – you do not allow people to post any comments. Why might that be? tsk tsk!

On your other blog, “Stop the Republicans” you appear to have censored someone who must have posted something you didn’t like regarding that inane litany you wrote including one of the Republican's great accomplishments was to abolish slavery.

Do you have anything more current? Like say, joke called 'Mission Accomplished?'

In short, your work was not very impressive though it is mildly amusing. I noticed you left out Nixon and the Watergate Scandal Goldwater and The Civil rights movement, Eisenhower's warning about the Military Industrial Complex, The Democrat turned Republican, Joseph McCarthy and a plethora of other black smears on the American history timeline, thanks to the Republican Party that you have arduously endeavored to venerate.

It is funny indeed that you have to reach back nearly one hundred years in order to find something good to identify with about the Republican Party for an appeal to the black constituency. It didn't work - they still don't trust you. Your work was worthy of a yawn.

Also, I noticed your last post in “Stop the Republicans” was posted back in April. Is that your last piece of work? C'mon buddy! This is the blogosphere! You gotta post daily - otherwise your blog looks like neo-con propagandist drivel - which it is.

Finally, as a ‘journalist' you know better than anyone - as a student of History that Lincoln would not recognize your party if he came back today. Mussolini and Hitler on the other hand, would.

Do yourself and all of us here a favor, don't post here anymore - you are not welcome because you lack originality of thought - I am exercising my Karl Rove right to censor you here just like you censor others in your blogs.

Adios Tonto

Senseless once again...

1800 is a lot of people when you consider that Iraq did not ask to be saved and that there were no weapons of mass destruction. I have friends in the US military and I feel it would be senseless for them to die for no reason so far from home.

Can't wait to see the troops pull out.

Peace N love y'all !

P.S. J, thanks for you email - you'll be relieved to know all 300 passengers on that flight were safe.. Miracles do happen !

All the deas on both sides in time and in the times that were say only one thing.

To take a life in violence for whatever reason you can think of can NEVER produce new life. On what fundaments do yu think it will be build??

The only blood and the only dead you can build on is the life of Jesus, that is a solid fundament.

Al other death bring forth more death
