A Voice in the Wilderness

As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there's a twilight where everything remains seemingly unchanged, and it is in such twilight that we must be aware of change in the air, however slight, lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness. -- William O. Jean Charles de Menezes lies dead in the Tube train

British Police Officers in London killed the 26 year-old Brazilian Electrician two weeks ago when they mistakenly identified him as a suicide bomber. The article just released today states:

"...Documents and photographs leaked to ITV News also confirmed that Mr de Menezes did not run from the police, as had been reported, had used his Tube pass to enter the station, rather than vault the barrier, and had taken a seat on the train before being grabbed by an officer."

::Shudder:: This just makes things 10 times more tragic. My prayers go out to his family and to the Scotland Yard, all law enforcement for that matter. Perhaps God can lift the blinders, or at least make them ask questions first, the next time an incident like this might arise.

Thank you, as always, for keeping us up to date with news that isn't exactly "worthy" of making the 11 o'clock edition.
