A Voice in the Wilderness

As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there's a twilight where everything remains seemingly unchanged, and it is in such twilight that we must be aware of change in the air, however slight, lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness. -- William O. APD Inquiry Results In - The Fox says, "Henhouse is Fine" - Albuquerque gets a Black Eye

APD's new Chief, Ray Schultz announced the outcome of investigation into the biggest scandal in Albuquerque Police Depatment's History.

Investigation Results: No Problem - No pending prosecution - zero, zip, nada, zilch...

WHAT?

Well thank Heaven - at least there's no corruption among Albuquerque's Finest

I remember a Rape-in Progress I once pulled up on - in an alley - years ago. The battered woman’s eyes were blacked. Her blouse and bra were ripped away revealing a severely bruised neck and torso. Her torn panties were pulled down around her knees as she lay next to the broken beer bottle that was used to smash her face. She smelled of a beer and blood soaked mud.

A male offender - yelling at the victim - was on top of her. He was holding her arms forcibly down when I drove up. The man identified himself as the victim’s ‘boyfriend’ and told me, “There’s no problem here Officer.” He explained they were simply having a, “little disagreement, a lover’s quarrel” - among the tumbleweeds in the alley.

The Victim, clearly embarrassed and punch drunk, told me, “He’s just mad ‘cause I won’t give him any lovin.” Her eyes were swelled shut and her left cheek-bone appeared to be broken - her eye socket was drooping.

God knows I am going to sleep better knowing APD found nothing terrible in the Evidence Unit. The nearly $200,000.00 missing in addition to property and crucial evidence critical to prosecution has to be somewhere.

Oh yes, I almost forgot to finish my story about that Rape:
Based on my training and experience, I concluded this was more that a 'lovers spat' and arrested the male subject. I filed a criminal complaint charging him with Criminal Sexual Penetration, Aggravated Battery, False Imprisonment and Kidnapping (as I recall I decided not to charge him with Battery on a Household Member because we could never establish whether the parties involved were in fact lovers, co-habitants, drinking buddies or complete strangers) - The case never went to trial. The victim refused to testify. The way the law reads is, No victim = No crime.

God love you Chief Schultz – the ship is safe in your hands
No victim = No Crime
Anchors Aweigh!

* Note: This news broke on the 10:00 news - Channel 13. Yet, when I went there to link the story, there is no mention of it - Not to be found on KOB or KOAT either. Now thats a demonstration of gutlessness - and the Mainstream Media wonders why their credibility is called into question.

I will check the Journal tomorrow for an article.

Who is the scapegoat here? Chief Shultz is protecting APD in light of all the negative press lately.

Anonymous,

Thanks for your post.

The scapegoat is ex-APD Chief Gil Gallegos. If you have been following the story that is how Ray Schultz came to be the new Chief.

If your intent is to protect Ray Schultz by painting him in a better light then so be it. I think his politics stink. APD doesn't need a 'yes' man now it needs a man who is willing to crush the heads of corrupt, lying, law-breaking dirty police.

Anyone who loves the law would never place the badge above it. People like that are not cops, they are frauds; they are wolves in sheeps clothing.

My point of contention is simple; APD deals with crime every day - their integrity is on the line here - If they can bust everyone else for breaking the law - why are they so lax in policing themselves? I wish the Feds would get involved.

Not one criminal complaint in this, and yet two hundred grand in money is missing. Valuable property like jewelry is missing. Drugs that were taken off the street are missing where are those drugs? Back on the street???

Where the hell are they? Where in hell is the outrage? This is the police for Heaven's sake!

What happens when one of these guys takes you in a back alley and beats you half to death and then claims it was you who battered him?

The question is about integrity. Not all police are bad - the only ones who are bad are in a position to remain above the law.

Scapegoat? What kind of police department do YOU deserve?

J
