A Voice in the Wilderness

As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there's a twilight where everything remains seemingly unchanged, and it is in such twilight that we must be aware of change in the air, however slight, lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness. -- William O. Mother Nature weighs in on Chavez' Mayoral Campaign

Apparently Mother Nature is unimpressed with San Martin de Dinero

NEWSFLASH: Marty to hold press conference later this week to announce establishment of a wind task-force!

beep beep beep . . .
Nick Bakas to lead "Operation Rope the Wind" - All City Supervisors assigned shifts & given spiffy new "Marty's Air Force" vests - blood clot colored to match his campaign banner

What goes up must come down
Spinning Wheel

Some times, if you look just right at a spinning bike wheel, you can see it stopped instantaneously like a freeze-frame. Just in that moment, you can see every minute detail of it. Then just as quickly, it disappears. That 'emergency' phone call that Majordomo Martay 'had' to take in order to avoid being pummeled at the Bernalillo County Commission meeting (19 April 2005?) is our Mayor's freeze frame.

Marty has a weakness; he cannot handle open, un-scripted confrontation. He is running his campaign through pre-packaged press-releases. He threw his graffiti up on a Nob Hill building and no one called the Graffiti hotline. He has all the money he needs to paint himself as the 'Wizard of Aahs." He's rolling with his big buck homies and shouting out 'West Side" hoping to garner their vote.

Like the Kris Kristofferson song, ‘Pilgrim,’ Martin Chavez is,
”a walking contradiction partly truth and partly fiction;
Taking every wrong direction on his lonely way back home."

Martin Chavez is vulnerable - read the "13 points' in albloggerque's thread - interesting questions, pathetic defenses and no direct responses.

Albuquerque's future is for sale to the highest bidder by a man who shamelessly plugs himself (no pun intended) at the mere sight of a camera lens.

Albuquerque's Mayor, and self-proclaimed patron saint, San Martin de Dinero waltzes with the monied elites while reaching deep into their pockets.
